I finished one project without telling you I'd started. The hat uses some locally spun yarn I bought at the farmer's market. It's shetland wool, but it felt very soft and squishy to me. Not at all itchy. I used the pattern from Elizabeth Zimmermann's Opionionated Knitter. I cast on 76 stitches on size 5 needles.
The socks are going to be the Riverbed architecture from Cat Bordhi's book, New Pathways for Sock Knitters.
